🐶 Quick Facts 🐾
🍊All About Me☘️
Hi, I’m Sowon! I’m an 11-year-old mixed breed with a soft black, brown and white coat and a heart full of quiet strength. Weighing 5.3kg (11.7lb), I may be small in size, but I carry the spirit of a true survivor. My journey has been long and painful—when I was found, I had severe eye trauma, a uterine infection, intestinal issues, and dental disease. I had been abandoned on a mountain road in Gangwon-do, too weak to move, shivering in fear. Just moments before I was scheduled to be euthanized, a volunteer saw my story online and came to save me. Now, I’m healing and learning that the world can be a gentle place after all.
🐕My Personality🐕
I am gentle, quiet, and unassuming. I may be blind, but I don't let that stop me from living life with calm curiosity. At first, I can be a little cautious with new people, but if you offer a treat, I’ll gladly take it. Once I feel safe, I’ll even roll over and show my belly to let you know I trust you. I’m not a dog who demands attention—I’m just content to be near kind people. I bring a peaceful presence into the home and enjoy soft voices and slow, reassuring movements.
🐕Social Skills🐶
With other dogs, I am peaceful and tolerant. I coexist well with dogs of all sizes and don’t react aggressively, even when approached. I don’t seek out play or social interaction, but I’m happy to share space with calm, respectful dogs. I haven’t been tested with cats, but I show no signs of prey drive or agitation, so I may do well with a proper introduction.
🔋Energy and Activities🎲
I have a low energy level and am happiest when I can nap in a cozy bed or lie beside you on a quiet afternoon. I no longer need long walks or vigorous activity—just a little movement to stretch my legs and sniff the world around me. Because of my blindness, I rely on my other senses to navigate, and I do quite well as long as my environment remains stable and familiar.
🎲Training and Habits⭐
I’m a polite and well-mannered senior. I am fully house-trained and can use both pee pads and outdoor spaces depending on your routine. I do not guard my food or toys and am easygoing during mealtime. I am quiet and calm in a kennel and rarely bark, even when I’m unsure or adjusting to a new place.
💊My Health🏥
I have no vision in either eye and had my left eye surgically removed in 2021. I also had a uterine infection (pyometra) which was treated with surgery the same year. As of March 2025, I’ve completed dental scaling, all core vaccinations, and I tested negative for heartworm. I have no current joint or allergy issues.
🏠My Ideal Home💕
I would thrive in a peaceful and patient home where I can be given the space and time to adjust at my own pace. I don’t need a lot of activity or attention—just kindness, consistency, and a warm place to rest. Because I am blind, I do best in a home that doesn’t frequently rearrange furniture or has lots of obstacles. A family that understands senior dogs and special needs will be perfect for me. If you have other gentle dogs, that’s fine too—I’m happy to share my space.
💌Special Notes💌
Despite all I’ve been through, I am still resilient, dignified, and full of quiet hope. I don't flinch in crowds of dogs, and I’m not reactive to unfamiliar people, proving just how strong and emotionally grounded I truly am.
