Hi, I’m Daebak! I’m a three-year-old brindle Jindo-Hogu mix with a striking black, brown, and white coat. Weighing 39.7lb (18kg), I have a strong and athletic build with a calm and thoughtful nature. My journey started as a small, helpless puppy found soaked in the rain by a kind student. Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep me, and I ended up in a shelter where I was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a dedicated volunteer saw my potential and rescued me just in time. Now, I’m searching for a loving home where I can finally settle in and be part of a family forever.

 

🐕My Personality🐕
I am a gentle and reserved dog who needs a little time to feel comfortable in new environments. At first, I may be cautious and take my time getting to know you, but once I do, I show my affectionate and loyal side. If you have treats, that’s a great way to earn my trust—I’ll gladly take snacks and, before long, I’ll warm up and enjoy being petted. Since I have a sensitive and observant nature, I might need a bit of time to adjust to big changes, such as a new home or new people. The best way to welcome me is to give me space and let me come to you on my own terms. Once I feel safe, I’ll become an affectionate and devoted companion.

 

🐕Social Skills🐶
I get along well with other dogs but prefer calm and polite interactions over high-energy play. When I meet new dogs, I’ll approach them to say hello, but I don’t always engage in active play. I’m particularly comfortable with smaller dogs, as I tend to be gentle around them. However, I usually just do my own thing and don’t show much interest in other dogs unless they interact with me first. I have a high prey drive toward cats and small animals. If I see a cat outside, I get very excited and may try to chase it, so I would do best in a cat-free home.

 

🔋Energy and Activities⭐
I have a moderate energy level—I love my walks and enjoy outdoor time, but once I’ve had my exercise, I’m content to relax at home. I walk well on a leash and don’t pull much, making me an enjoyable walking companion. Since I’ve been used to outdoor potty breaks, I prefer going to the bathroom outside. I don’t usually have accidents indoors, but in unfamiliar places, I may mark my territory until I feel more secure.

 

🎓Training and Habits❤️
I am polite with food and don’t guard my meals or treats from people or other dogs. I do tend to bark at unfamiliar people until I feel comfortable around them. This is part of my natural instinct to be alert, but once I recognize that someone is safe, I settle down. I ride well in a kennel or crate and stay calm during travel. However, I may need some help adjusting to long flights or major transitions. When I first arrive in a new home, I may be overwhelmed, so giving me a quiet space to rest and adjust will help me settle in faster.

I would do best with a patient and understanding family who will give me time to adjust to my new surroundings. Since I may be a little reserved at first, my adopters should let me explore at my own pace rather than forcing interactions. If my new family has another dog, it would be best if they are calm and friendly rather than overly energetic, as I prefer peaceful companionship. A cat-free home is ideal due to my strong prey drive. A family who enjoys daily walks and structured routines would be a great match for me. With time, I will build deep trust and become a loving and loyal companion.

Since I will be making a big transition when I move into my forever home, it’s important that I have a quiet space to decompress after arrival. My new family should avoid forcing me out of my crate—just leave water and food nearby and let me come out when I’m ready. Once I feel safe, I will begin to show my true personality.
